Tokyo Sky Tree: Pictures and some complimentary words.

So usually on Saturdays I have a culture class/lecture put on by the school that I have to. That's neat and all but the better part of the culture class is a tour of some region or place or landmark or building in Tokyo.
This last time my class and I went to a Tokyo history museum and it was pretty neat, I didn't take that many photos of it because I was pretty busy messing around with my new found Wisconsin based friends, and because I wanted to enjoy the museum without threat of looking through a camera lens.
so this is the extent of the museum that I shot. we went up this portal thing that was pretty cool and were then immersed in Japanese history. here are some links to their sight if you want to see more of what they have becaue im sure they have done abetter job of covering their own museum then i ever could link link link.
Now what I was really hyped about was the solo adventure to come after the above mentioned tour.
So what this post is mainly about and indeed what I'm sure you initially saw the title of this post and expected to see was the tree in the sky of Tokyo. Here are some pretty cool photos of/from it in no particular order, with some blurbs.
This is a pretty good idea of the fist view I got from the SkyTree.. pretty stunning.
Rainbow bridge and Odaiba in the upper left there.
Got bumped a couple times, but turned out to make some pretty cool affects.

Really not sure what river that is or what stadium that is. But I do know for a fact they are less than 10blocks from the base of the sky folage.
Rainbow bridge and the semi famous Ferris wheel

Better view of the wheel. Apperently my host brother from New England was on the Ferris wheel with one of his Japanese buddies about the same time I took this photo. I'm sure he's in the frame somewhere.

A little bit of scale for you
I was working mainly with two lenses, a 18-55 and a 55-200. The 200mm feller presented himself with a decent closeup of the wheel, unfortunately long exposures over 6-8 seconds in a building that is very tall in a town know for tiny little earthquakes made it very hard to get a good sharp, light filled photo of this wheel, especually when zoomed in so far.

I always have loved doing long exsposure shots with cars a night. They just present an extra mood to a piece.

 More mood stuff.

After taking like 27 ten second exposures of Rainbow bridge at this far zoomed in, I got one that presented itself worthy. There was this interesting phenomena with the indoor light in the SkyTree reflecting off the glass I was shooting through. kinda adds some interest, oh and I think that's an airplane in the upper right.
Tokyo tower I think, or the Eiffle tower replica.

The building on the left is modeled after a beer glass so I've been told. Little bit better picture of that here.

After taking in my fill of the view that only cost me about 26 dollars in all and which I didn't have to wait in almost any line because I looked like a foreigner and was asked if I would like to spend another seven dollars to not wait an hour to get into the sky tree.. I headed down the very quick elevator and was greeted outside with these cool colors and stuff.
I wanted to go to an aquarium on the same grounds as the sky shrub but it was closed.
Pretty awesome all the engineering and artistry that went in to making this building really feel blessed I got the opportunity.
Here's one for the fans, and my mom.

Until the next episode of "Josh is Where".
